How has your understanding of artistic space changed during this unit?
I understand how important space is when you are doing art. Especially with this project, you have to make sure that the space is proportional so it can help the picture look realistic and life like. For example, you had to bring the cartoon girl closer to the camera than the tree so she looked the right size next to the tree. Same with the spray can with the clouds.
What exercise was the most helpful and why?
The forced perspective exercise definitely was the most helpful because it helped me get a better understanding of how forced perspective works and how I can make it look realistic. In the exercise we took a bunch of pictures similar to this, so when we did the project I knew what to do. It also was able to help me see how you were able to position the camera to make sure the angle looks real.
How do you feel about your work for the final project? Was it successful?
I am really proud of the final work for the project because I feel like everything looks really cool, and for the most part realistic. For some of them we drew the props and added them to the surroundings to make it look real, and actually apart of the world. Other times we used nature and incorporated ourselves into it for a really cool effect and look.
